At MOA Art Kids, our specialized workshops introduce young creators to real-life creative careers while building valuable new skills. Whether it’s designing dream homes, sketching futuristic robots, or building bridges, each workshop blends art, imagination, and practical knowledge in a fun, engaging way.

Kids will learn how to:

  • Draft and build basic architectural structures
  • Explore interior and spatial design through planning and model-making
  • Create environments and characters like a concept artist in animation or gaming
  • Discover how engineering meets design in the real world
  • Work with professional tools, techniques, and creative problem-solving methods

We focus on learning outcomes such as:

  • Developing strong design thinking and visual storytelling
  • Strengthening spatial awareness and creative planning
  • Gaining confidence in presentation and collaboration
  • Understanding the foundations of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math)

With inspiring field trips, outdoor sketching, and collaborative projects, each session balances learning and fun, while exposing kids to real creative roles and industries. Our goal is to equip young artists with skills they can build on – whether for a future portfolio, school projects, or a lifelong passion.

 

ARCHITECTURE & ENGINEERING

Age Group: All ages | No prior experience required
Duration: Project-based (2–3 months)
Class Frequency: Weekly (2-hour sessions)
Fee: $20/hour

In this engaging workshop, students dive into the exciting world of architecture and engineering through hands-on projects, creative challenges, and real-world applications. They’ll design homes and commercial spaces.

Kids will learn:

  • Core architectural and engineering principles
  • Design theory: functionality, balance, sustainability, and aesthetics
  • Drafting techniques: functional diagrams, floor plans, elevations, and sections
  • Model making with various materials to bring structures into 3D form
  • Landscape design, environmental analysis, and site planning
  • Presentation boards and visual storytelling

We offer Exciting educational field trips to local architectural landmarks, studios, and design-related exhibitions to enrich the experience, connecting theory to real-world practice.

The Architecture & Engineering course is designed to spark creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills while providing a foundational understanding of architecture and engineering principles. Students will walk away with completed projects,  a portfolio of their work, and an appreciation for the built environment!

Materials Needed

  • Sketchbook, Tracing paper, Graph paper pad
  • Mechanical pencil and eraser.
  • T-square, Ruler, Compass, and Protractor.
  • Colored pencils, Markers, or Watercolors.
  • Recyclable materials for model-building (paper, cardboard, straws, popsicle sticks). 

INTERIOR DESIGN

Age Group: All ages | No prior experience required
Duration: Project-based (2–3 months)
Class Frequency: Weekly (2-hour sessions)

Design spaces that inspire!

In this hands-on course, students will learn to create beautiful, functional interiors for residential, commercial, or imaginative spaces. They’ll explore key interior design principles like space planning, color theory, material selection, and lighting for mood and atmosphere.

 

Kids will learn:

  • Core concepts of interior design and space organization
  • Color theory and how to apply it effectively
  • Drawing skills: interior sketches, elevations, and perspective views
  • Furniture and decor design with attention to style and function
  • Material selection and mood board creation for cohesive presentations

Learning outcomes:
By the end of the course, students will complete and present a full interior design project with sketches, mood boards, and a clear visual concept – gaining confidence in creative decision-making and presentation skills.

By the end of the Interior Design program, participants will have a fully realized design project, progressing from initial sketches to a polished, colored presentation board showcasing their vision for interior spaces. This project will reflect their unique artistic style and personal choices in color schemes, design elements, lighting, and materials. Students will gain the skills and confidence to create a professional-quality presentation they can take pride in, highlighting their creativity and attention to detail.

Concept Art & Film

In this dynamic course, young artists will dive into the fundamentals of concept design, character creation, and visual storytelling for games, animation, and film. Guided by an experienced industry professional, students will bring ideas to life through drawing, design, and storyboarding.

 

Kids will learn:

  • Core principles of concept design
  • Character design: anatomy, shape language, expression, posing & clothing
  • Environment & prop design for narrative settings
  • Basics of color, light, texture, and materials
  • Visual storytelling techniques: composition, pacing, camera angles, and mood
  • Storyboarding: layout, flow, emotion, and timing

 

Learning outcomes:
By the end of the course, students will:

  • Design original characters and environments
  • Create a compelling storyboard sequence based on a script
  • Learn how to visually interpret and present a story idea
  • Gain a solid foundation in narrative structure and film planning

This course will prepare students to develop and pitch their own short film, giving them the tools to build a strong portfolio for school presentations, higher education applications, or entry into creative industry roles. Through hands-on projects and industry insight, students will walk away with professional-level work and a confident understanding of the creative pipeline.

By the end of the program, participants will have a portfolio of completed projects showcasing their unique creative voice, preparing them for advanced studies or career opportunities in art and design.

For Digital Concept Art –

  • A personal laptop with Adobe Photoshop or Procreate installed.
  • A drawing tablet (e.g., Wacom, Huion, or similar).
  • USB memory stick

SCULPTING

Age Group: All ages | No prior experience required
Duration: Project-based (2–3 months)
Class Frequency: Weekly (2-hour sessions)
Fee: $20/hour

This engaging and hands-on sculpting course for beginners introduces kids to the art of clay modeling under the expert guidance of a professional sculptor.

Students will explore the fundamentals of working with clay, including essential tools, different types of clay, and foundational techniques to shape figures, functional objects, and imaginative sculptures. Along the way, students will learn key aspects of material handling, shape design, and clay modeling.

Young artists will complete their creations by adding decorative details, textures, and vibrant paint, transforming their sculptures into unique masterpieces.

This course goes beyond creativity by fostering analytical and critical thinking. Participants will develop a deeper understanding of form, three-dimensional construction, the relationship between shapes, and material interaction. It’s perfect for curious young minds eager to build confidence, express themselves, and gain valuable sculpting and modeling skills in a fun, supportive environment

FOUNDATIONS OF ANIMATION

Age Group: 8+ (adjustable based on skill level)
Duration: 8 Weeks

Fee: $320.00
Class Frequency: Weekly (2 hours per session)

Step into the captivating world of animation with this comprehensive 8-week course designed for aspiring animators. From understanding the principles of movement to creating impressive animations, students will learn the essential techniques needed to bring their ideas to life.

Guided by professional animators, this course covers traditional and digital animation methods, focusing on character movement, timing, storytelling, and industry-standard workflows. Students will explore key animation software, develop storyboards, and create short animated sequences.

This course will cover Principles of Animation, Storyboarding Basics, Character Movement, Expressions and Lip Syncing, Working with Props and Effects, Timing, Spacing, and Project Development.

By the end of this animation course, participants will have a solid understanding of animation fundamentals, a portfolio of completed projects, and the tools to take their animation skills to the next level.
